Umana Noordeen qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004 from the University of Birmingham with honours and went onto complete her Masters in Advanced Physiotherapy in 2009. She is a highly experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 10 years of practice.
In addition to private practice Umana’s interest in sports physiotherapy has lead her to work with athletes ranging from track and field Olympic medallists to amateur marathon runners. Umana is the lead physiotherapist for the Maldives Olympic committee and looked after the team in various events such as the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics. She has also gained valuable experience working at elite training camps in Jamaica. Umana believes in health promotion and focuses her practice on addressing the root causes of injury through biomechanical analysis and injury prevention methods.
Umana continues to promote healthy living and keeps herself informed with current research and innovative practices to ensure her patients get the best possible treatments. She believes in a multi disciplinary team approach to patient care and works closely with consultants and personal trainers.
